Privacy Policy
Trenchoor is a social app for crypto culture: community posts, comments, likes, follows and Lore Points calls. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Trenchoor app and the Trenchoor API, and what we do with it. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising profiles.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (to sign you in with a code or a password) and, if you choose one, a password, which our sign-in provider stores only as a hash.
- Profile: your handle, display name, emoji avatar, bio and the interests you pick during onboarding, plus the date you accepted the Terms of Use.
- What you post: posts, captions, photos and videos you upload, comments, likes, shares, follows, blocks, calls and the reports you file. Posts, comments, likes, follows and your profile are public to other users.
- Support messages: what you send through the Support form, and the email address you give us to reply to.
- Abuse prevention: your IP address and email address are used to rate-limit sign-in attempts, sign-ups, profile creation and support messages. We store only salted hashes of them, never the addresses themselves, and delete those records after 2 days.
- Trench Oracle (AI features): when you use Oracle Chat, the messages you send and the item you opened it from; when you use the AI Lore Lab, the topic you type; when you ask for a brief of a trending headline, that headline. They are sent to our AI providers (below) to write the answer; we don't store the text. For each AI request we keep a record of which feature and model it used, its size and estimated cost, linked to your account, to enforce daily limits and our AI budget. Please don't put personal information about yourself or anyone else into Oracle Chat or the Lore Lab.
- How the feed is used: to learn which cards and layouts work, the app tells us which feed cards you see (the card, its kind and its place in the feed), how long each one is on screen, whether a video's sound was on and how long it took to start, what you do on a card (pump, lore, call, bag, shill, follow, watch, not interested, more like this, open) and how long the app took to show its first card. These records carry a random id the app creates when it is installed, which test group that id falls into, and your account when you are signed in. We use them only to measure and improve the feed, never for advertising profiles, and they are not shared with advertisers. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Why we use it
To run the service you asked for: signing you in, showing your profile and posts, delivering likes, comments and follows, scoring calls and Lore Points, serving sponsored posts that other users paid for with Boost credits, keeping the community safe (moderation, reports, blocks, rate limits) and answering support requests.
Who processes it
- Vercel hosts the API and stores uploaded photos and videos (Vercel Blob).
- Neon hosts the database and the sign-in service (Neon Auth), which sends sign-in code emails.
- Vercel AI Gateway passes Trench Oracle requests to the AI model providers Anthropic (Oracle Chat, briefs and the Lore Lab) and OpenAI (text embeddings of public coin names and headlines for the Narrative Radar). They receive the text described above together with public market data, never your email address, password or handle, and process it only to produce the answer.
- DexScreener and CoinGecko provide market data, and pump.fun, Google News and Hacker News public coin listings and headlines. We and the app only read public data from them; no account, profile or content data is sent to them.
These providers process data on our behalf and only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
- Your account, profile and content: until you delete them or your account.
- Rate-limit records (hashed email and IP): 2 days.
- Photos and videos you upload but never post: deleted within 2 days.
- Records of which sponsored posts were shown to or tapped by you: 30 days.
- Records of how the feed is used: 90 days.
- Records of your AI requests (feature, model, size, estimated cost): 90 days. Deleting your account unlinks them from you.
- Reports you file and support messages: until we have dealt with them, and never longer than your account exists.
- Content removed by moderators may be kept, hidden, for as long as needed to handle the report.
Deleting your data
Delete your account any time with Delete account in the app's settings. This permanently deletes your profile, posts, uploaded media, comments, likes, follows, blocks, calls, points, support messages, the feed records made while you were signed in, your sign-in account and the rate-limit records tied to your email. It can't be undone. Feed records made while signed out carry only the app's random install id and expire after 90 days. You can also delete individual posts and comments yourself.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. Ask through the Support form in the app and we will respond as the law requires.
Children
Trenchoor is not meant for anyone under 17, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date below and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
